Metadata Architecture and Application for National Digital Archive Program in Taiwan: Progress report¡]Tutorial II; 5¡^

Formally, Metadata Architecture and Application Team ¡]MAAT¡^ has been established since 2002, based on continuation of metadata tasks from Sinica Metadata Application and Research Task at Computing Centre of Academia Sinica in 1998.  The MAAT is focused on metadata researching and supporting over 20 digital library projects within the National Digital Archives Program ¡]NDAP¡^ in Taiwan.  Actually, these projects are performed by various organizations across a wide range of disciplines ¡]such as history, arts, archaeology, anthropology, botany, and zoology¡^ , data ¡]rare books, paintings, artifacts, specimen, archives, photos, and videos¡^, and community ¡]such as library, herbarium, archives, and museums¡^.  This paper aims to be a state-of-the-art progress report of MAAT in order:
