Title: Development of an Ontology-Based Portal for Digital Archive Services

Abstract:

In this paper we report employing ontology technology to develop a web portal for the digital archive service. We started from identifying the requirements of the digital archive services. Then we design the web site and the ontologies in parallel to meet the requirements. After the design stage, we formalize the views and test their functionality to reach a stable knowledge schema. Finally we populate the previous design and test into an integrated operational portal. We implement a prototype to show the data provision and access of the portal.
