We have developed a content protection platform, integrating various rights management mechanisms, including XrML descriptions for content providers and users, effective use of electronic license, and management of digital watermark and fingerprint for dealing with infringement. We firstly survey several digital rights management systems and introduce the design issues of content protection platform for media data.

Management of various kinds of content differ in their protection point of emphasis. For example, we focus on the preservation and ownership of digital archive and artwork, and trace-back of electronic official documents, while infringement and illegal use are of primary concerns for electronic books. We will discuss on these issues.
