Bio
Shian-Hua Lin received his B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. degree in Engineering Science from National Cheng-Kung University, Tainan, Taiwan, in 1992, 1994, and 2000, respectively. His is major in Computer Science under the advise of Prof. Yueh-Min Huang. His research interests include "Web Information Retrieval, Extraction, and Classification", "Machine Learning (Data Mining)", "Database and Knowledge Management System", and "Bioinformatics". He integrated studies in these fields and developed a system (including Web Directory and Search Engines) for Knowledge Management (KM), Knowledge Portal (KP), which is applied in several services. He joined Institute of Information Science, Sinica as research assistant and postdoctoral fellow in 1996 and 2000, respectively. He is an assistant professor of Department of Computer Science and Information Science (CSIE), National Chi Nan University (NCNU) now.
