Chu-Song Chen received a B.S. in Control Engineering from National Chiao-Tung University, Hsing-Chu, Taiwan, in 1989.  He received an M.S. in 1991 and a Ph.D in 1996, respectively, both from the Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering, National Taiwan University.  From 1997 to 1999, he has been a postdoctoral
 fellow of the Institute of Information Science, Academia Sinica, and has become an assistant research fellow since 1999.  He has been a joint appointment assistant professor in Department of Graphic Arts and Communications at the National Taiwan Normal University since 2001.  Dr. Chen has received both the outstanding paper award of the Image Processing and Pattern Recognition (IPPR) Society and the best paper award of the Image Processing and Application Association (IPAA) of Taiwan,  R.O.C. in 1997.
 He has received the outstanding paper award in the field of computer applications in ICS'2000 held in Chiayi, Taiwan.  His research interests include pattern recognition,
 computer vision, signal/image processing, and computer graphics.
