A Network Based Email Security Scheme
The spam mails have become an increasing problem for individuals
and for corporates, and lots of time and resources have been wasted
to combat the problem. Spam mails with forged identity have been
reported in forgery, fraud, and even more serious crimes.

This seminar will first investigate email security threats, and
then I will present several /network based email security
techniques/ for anti-spam and anti-phishing. Our approach applies
email delivery network analysis and network tests to detect and
prevent spam and phishing emails. Our techniques do not require
scanning of the content of incoming emails and will make it harder
for spammer to forge email headers. I will also describe some
mechanisms for secure inbound and outbound email security controls
in our secure email gateway implementation.

This talk is based on joint work with Dr. Der-Tsai Lee, Dr. Laurent
Lin and Dr. Kai-Hsiang Yang at IIS Sinica Academia, Taiwan.
