Multi-Q: Fully
automated tool for multiplexed protein quantitation
data analysis.
Mass spectrometry has emerged as one
of the most powerful high throughput techniques
for protein analysis. Furthermore, the iTRAQ
labeling techniques, which can analyze up to
four sets of samples at a time, is one of the
most up-to-date methods for multiplexed protein
identification and quantitation in this field.
Such quantitation is based on multidimentional
chromatography in conjunction with mass spectrometry
and tandem mass spectrometry. Multi-Q is such
a fully automated tool to expedite the analysis
of vast amounts of spectral data.
Multi-Q is designed for iTRAQ-based protein
quantitation. It can analyze up to four data
sets at the same time. The input data are in
mzXML and pepXML format. mzXML data format is
converted from raw data files while pepXML is
converted from the result of protein identification.
Multi-Q uses only uniuque peptides for protein
quantificaiton. It uses the processes of determing
peptide ratio, normalization, and protein ratio
to obtained protein ratio results.
