Persistence in penetrating through time and space-Creating Buildings
that change the city


An outstanding can change the face of a city, just like the Empire State Building in New York and the Eiffel Tower in Paris. The 508-meter structure has 101 floors and is situated at the center of Taipei's Xin-Yi area, next to the World Trade Center. It is the biggest building project in Taiwan's architectural history. Not only will this be the tallest building in the world, but the international fame and mission will also bring worldwide attention to Taipei. Planned in conjunction with an international professional team and designed by the master Architect C.Y. Lee, the 101-floor skyscraper combines classic oriental culture and local Taiwanese features.


The Building's appearance resembles sections of sturdy bamboo rising from the ground, steadily growing taller, flexible but strong, representing the eternity of Chinese traditional architecture. The glass curtain wall with double glazed heat reduction clear glass allows people in the world's tallest building to enjoy the view of the earth and the sky. High-tech aterial and creative lighting have been used to create a transparent, clear, and penetratins visual effect, making a harmonious blend with nature and the surrounding environment. Taipei 101 has culture, shopping, and business functons. With humanistic space design, it meets the expectations of Taipei residents towards new buildings of the future.
