About the Conference |
The 12th Annual International Computing and Combinatorics Conference (COCOON'06)
will be held on Aug 15-18, 2006, in Taipei, Taiwan.
Original research papers in the areas of theoretical
computer science and combinatorics related to computing are solicited.
In addition to theoretical results, we are particularly interested in results
that report on experimental and applied research of general algorithmic
interest. Special considerations will be given to algorithmic research that
is motivated by real-world applications. Experimental and applied papers
are expected to show convincingly the usefulness and efficiency of the algorithms
discussed in a practical setting. Typical, but not exclusive, topics of
interest include:

- Algorithms and data structures;
- Algorithmic game theory and online algorithms;
- Automata, languages, logic, and computability;
- Bioinformatics and computational biology;
- Combinatorics related to algorithms and complexity;
- Complexity theory;
- Computational algebra, geometry, and number theory;
- Computational learning theory and knowledge discovery;
- Cryptography, reliability and security, and database
theory;
- Graph drawing and information visualization;
- Graph theory, communication networks, and optimization;
- Parallel and distributed computing;

Paper Submission
|
The submission deadline
is Feb. 20, 2006. COCOON'06 will only accept electronic (PS, PDF) submissions.
For on-line submission, please go to http://www.iis.sinica.edu.tw/cocoon06
for detailed instructions on submissions.
An e-mail will be sent to you to confirm the receipt of
your submission within 24 hours. If you have any problem or question on submissions,
please contact cocoon06@iis.sinica.edu.tw.
A submission should start with the title of the paper,
each author's name, affiliation, and e-mail address, and a one-paragraph
summary of the results. This should be followed by a scholarly exposition
of the ideas, techniques, and a full description of the results achieved.
A clear indication of the motivation and comparison with prior or related
work should be presented. The paper should not exceed 10 pages, excluding
bibliography and appendices, on letter-size paper using 11 point or larger
font.
Submissions that deviate significantly from these guidelines
or are unprintable risk rejection without consideration of their merits.
The proceedings of the conference will be published by
Springer-Verlag in the Lecture Notes in Computer Science series, and will
be available for distribution at the conference.
Invited Speaker:
Mike Atallah (Purdue University, USA)
Franco Preparata (Brown University, USA)
Special Issue:
High quality papers will be invited to a special issue in Algorithmica,
and in International Journal of Computational Geometry and Applications,
respectively.
Important Dates:
Submission of Papers: February 20, 2006
Notification of Acceptance/Rejection: April 17, 2006
Final Camera-ready Version Due: May 12, 2006
