intended to provide a forum for researchers working in algorithms and theory of
computation. It will be held in Taipei, Taiwan on December 18-20, 2000 at the
Institute of Information Science, Academia Sinica, Taiwan.
Symposium Themes
Algorithms and Data Structures
Approximation and Randomized Algorithms
Automata and Formal Languages
Combinatorial Optimization
Computational Biology

Submissions
Authors are
invited to submit papers presenting original and unpublished research results
on symposium themes listed above. Papers in applied areas with a strong
foundational emphasis are also welcome. A submission should start with the
title of the paper, author(s)' name, affiliation and e-mail address, and a
short abstract summarizing the main results of the paper. This should be
followed by a scholarly exposition of the ideas, techniques, and a full
description of the results achieved. A clear indication of the motivation and
comparison with prior or related work should be presented. The paper should not
exceed 12 pages using 11 point or larger font. Submissions that deviate
significantly from these guidelines and PostScript submissions that are
unprintable or formatted for paper size other than 8.5 x 11 inch paper risk
rejection without consideration of their merits. Authors who feel that more
details are necessary may include a clearly marked appendix which will be read
at the discretion of the Program Committee.
Submissions to the
symposium this year will ONLY be conducted electronically either by e-mail or
web. Hard-copy submissions will NOT be accepted.
