General Information

Residents of most countries need visas to enter the Republic of China on Taiwan. Please check with your travel agent. You should apply for a visa directly to the nearest ROC Consulate or representative as early as possible. Obtaining visas ahead of time is highly recommended to ensure a smooth flight. Visa Exempt Entry

1.     Eligible countries for application
Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, Japan, Luxcmbourg,
New Zealand, the Netherlands (Holland), Portugal,    Spain, Sweden, UK, USA, Italy
2.      Requirement
 
    (a).a passport valid for at least six months.
    (b).a confirmed return air (steamer)ticket or an air (steamer) ticket and a visa for the next destination,
          and a confirmed air (steamer) seat reservation,for his(her) departure.a confirmed air (steamer)
          seat reservation,for his(her) departure.
    (c).no criminal record verified by the airport or seaport police.
3.     Duration of stay
       14 days (no extension is permitted)
4.     Disembarkation port
       CKS International Airport, Kaohsiung International Airport, Keelung Harbor, Hualien Harbor,
       Taichung Harbor and Kaohsiung Harbor

       If you are not holding a China (PROC) passport, please ignore this message.
         There are some extra documents required to be prepared for people who held the passport of
         people's Republic of China (PRC). Please tell us as soon as possible if you do hold the PRC's passport.
         We shall send you some documents to fill out. Please respond immediately because it takes about two
         months to process everything. Thank you very much for your prompt reply.

during the Congress. This disclaimer applies to any event held during the assembly and symposium period.
Concerned participants should obtain insurance coverage for protection.

Currency

The unit of currency is the New Taiwan Dollar (NT$). The current exchange rate is NT$31-32 to US$1.
Foreign currencies can be exchanged at the CKS Airport upon arrival or at designated banks and hotels.
Major credit cards are accepted and traveler's checks may be cashed at some tourist-oriented businesses and
at most international hotels. Receipts are given when currency is exchanged. Keep these receipts.
