The electronic certificate is issued by a certificate authority to verify one's identity. The certificate can also be used to protect data and increase the security level of connections. It achieves authentication, data integrity, and non-repudiation.

• Certificate and expiration list

The certificates are issued by the certificate authority in IIS. An expiration list can also be downloaded to verify invalid certificates.

1. Please connect to https://ca.iis.sinica.edu.tw/certsrv
2. Login with your Samba account

3. Select  "Download certificates or expiration list"

4. Install cerficates
You may select "install the certificate" to install, or just download the certificates and lists.

3. Select "Request for certificate"
   
   
4. Select the type of certificates
   Client certificate : to verify client browsers.
   Email certificate : to be used in emails
   Server certificate : to verify servers, such as webserver
   Program code certificate : to verify your source codes
   IPSec certificate: to be used on VPN with L2TP over IPSec
   
   
5. Fill in certificate information
   a. If the types of certificates are "clienct certificate", "server certificate", or "IPSec certificate", please apply by the machines you want to verify. The IP is determined by the machine applying.
   
   b. If you are applying "Email certificate", "Program code certificate", or etc, please put down your name in the corresponding field.
   
   
6. You may click "install certificate" to install it to your computer.
   Click "download certificate¡¨to download the certificate.
   Click "download certificate path" to download the path.
