The server rooms are located at Room 302 (new building) and Room 402 (old building)
The server room is divided into two areas, the continuous power
area and UPS-power area. Please refer to the online system for the
application status.

Application:
- Print and fill in the application form.
- Send the form the the computer center, and we will contact you for the move in.
If the power is cut off, IIS has a power generator which
could continuously supply the electricity of this area. The application
for this area needs to be approved by a research fellow and the
director.
The power of this area is not connected to the extra power
generator. Instead, it's conntected to UPS. Therefore the power can
only last for some period until UPS is drained.
Priority of application:
- 15%(30U) of the area is for emergency. (There's a time limit for such placement, e.g. 3 months)
- Each research fellow has 1U quota (35U)
- Servers providing services from IIS.
- Main servers of each lab.
- When the space is not enough, the director will make the final decision.
- The status of the servers are reviewed each year.
Note:
- The computer center only provides an environment for Room 301 and 402.
- The computer center has no responsibility for the status of servers in the server room.
- A camera is placed in the server room. Also, the history of entrance is recorded.
- Every machine is required to be stamped with information such as the manager/owner.
- The machines are in 1U standard.
- Please follow the staff of the computer center for the placement of machines.
- Only
the manager/owner of machines can enter the server room. Please set up
the privilege of you ID card in the personnel office after the
application is approved.
- Please tell the computer center if any other people need to enter the server room. If not, the priviledge may be canceled.
- The machines should come with racks. The size is not allowed to exceed the approved area.
