We propose and analyze a symmetric model for multicast ATM switches with finite input and output buffers. The Head-Of-Line blocking and output queueing behavior are modeled in a virtual output queue. An iterative procedure is then developed to correlate the input queue and the virtual output queue under Bernoulli cell streams. This procedure is found to be computationally efficient and to yield accurate approximation of the switch performance.
