        Hsin-Min Wang received the B.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from National Taiwan University in 1989 and 1995, respectively.

        In October 1995, he joined the Institute of Information Science, Academia Sinica, where he is currently a research fellow. He was a deputy director of the institiute from September 2011 to August 2018. He was a joint professor at National Cheng Kung University and an adjunct associate professor at National Taiwan University, National Taipei University of Technology, and National Chengchi University. He currently serves as a senior editor of APSIPA Transactions on Signal and Information Processing. He was an associate editor of IEEE/ACM Transactions on Audio, Speech and Language Processing (2016/03–2020/03), APSIPA Transactions on Signal and Information Processing (2014/02–2021/12), Journal of Information Science and Engineering (2011/08–2016/03), and International Journal of Computational Linguistics and Chinese Language Processing (2004/05–2016/03)His major research interests include spoken language processing, natural language processing, multimedia information retrieval, machine learning and pattern recognition.

        Dr. Wang was the recipient of the Chinese Institute of Engineers (CIE) Technical Paper Award in 1995 and the ACM Multimedia Grand Challenge First Prize in 2012. He was an APSIPA distinguished lecturer for 2014-2015. He is a life member of APSIPA, ACLCLP, Institute of Information & Computing Machinery (IICM), and the Chinese Institute of Electrical Engineering (CIEE), a senior member of IEEE, and a member of the International Speech Communication Association (ISCA) and ACM.
