Jan-Jan Wu received the B.S. degree and the M.S. degree in Computer Science from National Taiwan University in 1985 and 1987, respectively. She received the M.S. and Ph.D in computer science from Yale University in 1991 and 1995 respectively.She joined the Institute of Information Science, Academia Sinica as an assistant research fellow in January 1996. She was promoted to reseach fellow since March 2011. Her research interests include parallel and distributed computing algorithms and applications, resource management and job scheduling in parallel and distributed systems, cluster, cloud and grid computing, SQL and NoSQL scalable database management for cloud computing, virtualization, and dynamic binary code manipulation (dynamic runtime compilation) on multi-cores. She won several best paper awards and nominations, including best paper awards for NCS 2013 (National Computer Symposium), I-SPAN 2009 (IEEE International Symposium on Pervasive Systems, Algorithms, and Networks),  GPC 2006 (IEEE International Conference on Grid and Pervasive Computing), the Taiwan Association of Cloud Computing (TACC) Best Paper Award for year 2011, and  best paper nominations for GPC 2007 (IEEE International Conference on Grid and Pervasive Computing) and ISPA 2004 (IEEE International Symposium on Parallel and Distributed Processing with Applications). In addition to serving as program vice-chairs and technical program committee members for many international conferences, she is currently serving as an associate editor for the Journal of Information Science and Engineering.
