Hi! Welcome to Tyng-Ruey Chuang's home page.

I am an associate research fellow in the Institute of Information Science, Academia Sinica (located at Taipei, Taiwan). My research interests include functional programming, programming languages, Web-based systems, parallel and distributed processing, and social implications of information technologies.

I was a guest researcher in the Department of Computing Science, Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden, before joining the Institute as an assistant research fellow in January 1994. I graduated with a BS degree in Computer Science and Information Engineering from National Taiwan University in 1984. I received my MS and PhD degrees in Computer Science from New York University in 1990 and 1993, respectively.
