• I do research in programming languages, Web technologies, geo-spatial informatics, and Internet and society.
• I am an associate research fellow at Academia Sinica, Taipei, Taiwan. I am affiliated with both the Institute of Information Science and the Research Center for Information Technology Innovation. I also teach as an associate professor at the Department of Information Management, National Taiwan University. During the 2011-2012 academic year, I was a fellow at the Berkman Center for Internet and Society, Harvard University, supported in part by the National Science Council of Taiwan and a Fulbright senior research grant.
• I am involved in Creative Commons Taiwan (public lead), Open Source Software Foundry (co-PI), and Academia Sinica Digital Center (advising on open data matters).
