I was asked to give a talk at the 2013 International Conference on Open Data in Biodiversity and Ecological Research (2013 生物多樣性及生態研究開放資料國際研討會暨工作坊) which was hosted in Academia Sinica in November 2013.

I decided to talk about Contents, Data, Tools: Why Openness Benefits Research (內容、資料、工具:為何開放有助於研究). I bit more than I could chew, I think, but I managed to contemplate a bit about "openness" and talk about a collaboration project on moving some citizen science data out of silos, in addition to the usual stuff.
