        Ting-Yi Sung received a B.S. in management science from National Chiao Tung University in 1980. She received an MBA in management science from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1983 and a Ph.D. in operations research from New York University in 1989. Since then she joined the Institute of Information Science as an associate research fellow. She has become a research fellow since July 2000.

        Dr. Sung''s research interest is mainly focused on bioinformatics, specifically on mass spectrometry-based proteomics, membrane proteomics, and protein structure and interaction perdiction. In addition, interconnection networks for parallel and distributed systems, mathematical programming, and graph algorithms are her research interest.

        Dr. Sung recieved the Ten Outstanding Young Women Award, Taiwan, in 1998 (第十七屆十大傑出女青年).
