Abstract:
In various arenas of real-world situations, an increasing amount of
information is described by complex networks, as networks are a
flexible and convenient representation of interactions in a complex
system. We considered the analysis of a complex network as an iterative
process of extracting meaningful information at multiple
granularities from a complex system of interacting objects. We
proposed a topology-based method to disclose a pyramid of abstractions
from a complex network. It is a new knowledge representation that
combined vertical and horizontal viewpoints for interpreting a complex
network to different degrees of abstraction.
