Abstract

Edge/fog computing is a key enabling technology for low latency applications. In this talk, I will talk about the technical issues and future direction of the emerging fog/edge computing and networking technologies. The proposed multimedia edge/fog architecture improves user QoE in fog-based video streaming services. In addition, edge/fog computing could also be applied to improve video analytics applications. Lastly, I will share the current edge/fog computing standard status and my experiences in participating in the standard activities.
