Abstract
In this talk, I will share my journey from being an international student to becoming an established researcher in Taiwan, where I pursued both my master's and PhD before embarking on a career as a professor. Drawing on over five years of experience in Taiwan's academic environment, I will discuss how to leverage Taiwan's research ecosystem to advance scientific discovery, including accessing cutting-edge facilities, building collaborations, and securing funding for research. I will also share insights into the challenges and strategies for conducting impactful research, publishing in high-impact journals, and developing a research portfolio that gains recognition both locally and internationally. Furthermore, I will provide guidance on balancing academic responsibilities with research, and offer advice on building a strong academic profile that paves the way for becoming a well-known researcher in your field. This talk will be particularly valuable for international students aiming to build a successful research career in Taiwan.
