Abstract

Recently, sparsity and compressed sensing have attracted a great deal of attentions in many different fields including sampling theory, applied harmonic analysis, approximation theory, optimization theory, and statistics etc. An important problem in compressed sensing is to construct the sensing matrix $A$. Although using random matrices is proven very successful in both theory and applications, a deterministic construction is still very important and interesting. In fact, it is a open problem proposed by Terry Tao. In this talk, I will report a new construction method. Some related work in the literature will also be reviewed.
