Conference Goal
Digital Archives are widely recognized as a crucial component of a Global Information Infrastructure for the new century. Technology support is crucial for the successful development of advanced digital archives. Research and development projects in many parts of the world are concerned about testing new ways of using advanced digital archive technologies for managing and manipulating with digital information, ranging from data storage, preservation, indexing, searching, presentation, and dissemination capabilities to organizing and sharing of information over networks. The main purpose of this two-day conference is to provide a forum to bring together international experts, researchers and developers who are interested in exchanging new ideas and presenting results in the field of digital archive technologies.

Conference Format
This two-day conference will include invited speeches by internationally recognized experts, oral presentations, and one panel discussion session. Presentations will be focused on topics related to the digital library and archive technologies including but not limited to the following:

1.  Technologies and tools for advanced digital archive systems

2.  New knowledge about archival storage and preservation

3.  Best practices of technology development in digital archives

4.  Applications of digital archive technologies

The conference will be held in the Academia Sinica, Taipei, Taiwan on December 19-20, 2002.
