摘要
We've all experienced extreme stress as graduate students. Schools told us that mental health is of tremendous importance from Day 1 and provide abundant resources to help us deal with stress. According to the Harvard University health report, 25% of grad students are under treatment for anxiety and depression. Obviously, we are well aware of these problems, but why is it so difficult to get through them?
I break down my experiences of dealing with stress into three phases:
1. Understand the origin of academic stress.
2. My trial and error in coping with stress.
3. My survival kit.
I hope this talk provides some useful insights for fellow Ph.D. students to look into their stress, and establish a remedy toolkit to support a more sustainable PhD life.
